CFA Internet Advertising Below are the results of our Hometown Florist Internet Advertising Program broken down by month and totals from the time we started thru January 25th.
We are very happy with the results of this test program. It proved very successful.
As expected the larger cities received the most clicks and click thru's to member's sites, but the larger cities also have the most members. When we break it down per click thru to each member's site the percentage of click thru's for the smaller city shops are very close to the larger city shops.
Because of the success of this program, the board has decided to continue it thru Mother's Day. We will reevaluate it again after that time.
The search engines we advertised on were Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL as well as several others.
We advertised in every city that we have a florist member (59 different cities) under three different search terms (Example: Annapolis Florist, Florist Annapolis MD & Flowers Annapolis MD).
Total clicks into the Hometown Florist site from October 10th to January 25th were 3,974.
Click thru's from the Hometown Florist site into Member sites for the same period was 2,149. That's a 54% click thru rate, which is incredible.
Total cost incurred by CFA for this same period was $6065.41. That averages $1.54 per click into Hometown Florist site and a total click thru cost $2.84 per click to member's site.
Each month since we started this test, the clicks have increased into the association's site and members site.
October's results were 933 clicks for Hometown Florist and 388 for member shops, 41 ½ % click thru rate. November was 879 for Hometown Florist and 499 for member shops, 56 ½% click thru rate. December was 1,104 for Hometown Florist and 640 for member shops, 58% click thru rate. January 1st thru the 25th results are 1058 for Hometown Florist and 622 for member shops 58 ¾% click thru rate.
As you can see the results of this test is very encouraging. It proves the consumer wants to buy from their local florist.
We need to expand into the entire Maryland, DC, Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania markets, but can only do that with more members that serve every city and town in those areas. If we get the membership we can advertise in entire states under more categories. These results show what your member dues can do.
